Jeromy Deblieux
Having been heavily influenced by the 80’s punk scene and sporting several different punk styles, Jeromy Deblieux knew that hair was going to be his life early on. After graduating from the Academy of Hair in Houston in ’89, Jeromy immediately began his training at the internationally acclaimed Larokka Hair, one of the first salons to carry Aveda products in Houston, Texas. Honing his skills and working under Gina Tamborello and Ronnie Anderson, Jeromy was quickly becoming a well known stylist in a highly competitive field. With six years under his belt Jeromy was now ready to head out on his own.
In 1994, Jeromy moved to Austin, Texas where he began his work at Avant. Mastering the art of hair color, Jeromy had fast become one of Austin’s elite color specialists. For ten years Jeromy would consider Avant his home until once again challenging himself and setting off on his own. After renting a chair at Austin’s Shag Salon, Jeromy realized that the obvious next step would be ownership. So in June of 2005 Jeromy and Leah Squyers opened a small salon called Lotus Blue in the bustling campus area just north of the university on the infamous ‘drag’. Having quickly outgrown Lotus Blue, it was apparent that the expansion was the only way to go. Jeromy set forth to open MethodHair with longtime friends Tim and Kathryn Lasater.
Opening in the summer of ’06, MethodHair had quickly become one of Austin’s ‘hippest salons’. Doubling as an art gallery, MethodHair was not only recognized as one of Austin’s best new salons with it’s award winning stylists, it is also known for it’s cool parties and gallery nights featuring some of Austin’s finest artists. Growing more still, the owners found it best to concentrate on new babies, new food companies and just good hair and decided to sell to one of their trusted, capable and seasoned stylist, Shannon Hollis. Now starting a new and exciting chapter, Jeromy is happy to join old friends again. He is currently residing and continuing the more natural side of life and hair at Peacock Salon at Cesar Chavez at Comal in East Austin.
Dedicated to the art of color, Jeromy is also known to dabble in the world of photography. His work has been featured in publications such as Modern Salon, American Salon, Passion, Coiffeur Q, Sophisticates Hair, Celebrity Hair and Short Hair International just to name a few. He has been heavily involved in fashion shows and editorial photo shoots for over 18 years. His interests also include climbing (and other outdoor related adrenaline activities), bringing orchids to life, welding, singing and producing his own music and is a big-time “foodie.” In his spare time you might find him training at Uchi, a premier asian restaurant know the world over or checking out the latest live music and more often than not a little punk rock…some things never change!
